It’s not easy becoming a leading global BPO and Collections agency. Besides the obvious hard work, it also takes a culture that maximizes the talents of your people. At ERC, we’re doing just that by fostering a healthy workplace that empowers our employees to get the most out of their unique talents.

“Investing in the health and well-being of our employees is fundamental to ERC’s success, because our people are our greatest asset,” says Kim Howell, ERC’s Chief People Officer. And we’re proud to announce that our investments in employee health are paying off in more ways than one. ERC was recently honored with the First Coast Healthiest Companies Silver Level Award. For over a decade, the organization has been recognizing businesses in Northeast Florida that foster healthy workplaces.

“We are thrilled to receive this award and recognition for our efforts to make the ERC family a healthier workforce,” said Howell.

The awards were presented at the 11th Annual First Coast Worksite Wellness Conference on May 8, 2019, at the University of North Florida. Hosted by Florida Blue, the conference featured a luncheon and keynote speakers who shared tips on how to create healthier, more productive workplaces.

One of the ways ERC is standing out is with our Body, Mind & Life Wellness program. Through continual education and activities, the BML program helps employees be healthier physically, mentally and emotionally. Each month, the BML newsletter is sent out to ERC employees to help accomplish this. Filled with everything from healthy recipes and health facts, to exercise and stress-relief tips, the newsletter is designed to promote personal well-being and bring out the best in our employees.

We’re also using the BML program to bring in healthy lifestyle experts and vendors to educate our staff, including doctors and financial advisers. The program even offers annual biometric screenings through Baptist Health’s PATH program (Personalized Approach to Health), to help our employees track their health and set goals.

“Our Body, Mind & Life Wellness program isn’t about losing weight. It’s about losing debt, stress, conflict and offering continual education programs and activities geared toward healthy eating, exercise and living,” said Howell.

Not stopping there, we also created the ERC Walking Club, where employees can walk together twice a day during office hours. It’s a healthy way to increase productivity and positivity, while forming stronger bonds with one another.

“By investing in our employees through wellness programs, we’re backing up our stance as an employee-first company, and they are returning the investment with loyalty, passion and energy,” added Howell.

The results from our healthy initiatives have only fueled our resolve to promote personal wellbeing. The way we see it, happier employees lead to happier clients. And now, our sights are set on the efforts to elevate ERC to the Gold Level Award and results.
