ERC Continues Commitment to Increasing Employment Opportunities for Military Spouses

Each year, the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), a targeted recruitment and employment solution for spouses and companies, brings its partners together to learn about the challenges facing military spouses.

Jessica Andriola and Annette Joslin, members of ERC’s Talent Management team, recently attended the MSEP Partner Meeting held in Washington, DC on October 17.

“ERC’s partnership with MSEP demonstrates our commitment to giving back to the communities surrounding our campuses,” stated Jessica Andriola, ERC’s Vice President of Talent Management. “It was an honor to represent ERC at this year’s MSEP partner meeting. We consider ourselves fortunate to have access to such a talented pool of workers and remain dedicated to providing them with challenging and fulfilling work.”

Currently facing a 26 percent unemployment rate, military spouses are well educated and highly qualified. 77 percent of these spouses want or need work, yet frequent relocation is often a barrier to finding and maintaining a rewarding career. The inability of spouses to obtain and retain fulfilling employment as they relocate with the military compromises the quality of life of military families and the readiness of the military force.

ERC joined the partnership in 2017 by signing the State of Support, a pledge that commemorates ERC’s recognition of military spouses, their education, diversity, and skills—all of which makes our nation the most competitive, productive workforce in the world.

“As a military spouse myself, I know from first-hand experience just how important the MSEP program is,” says Annette Joslin, ERC’s Talent Coordinator II. “In ERC I have found not only a steady job, but also a place where I can enhance my career and hone my skills. I know that the work I am doing at ERC will set me up for future career successes.”

As a MSEP partner, ERC is committed to recruiting, hiring and promoting military spouses. Hiring and retaining military spouses as they relocate to new geographic locations is not only good for business, but it is the right thing to do as we thank them for their continued service to this nation.
